Seattle Summer Activity Checklist
🏄 Paddle Boarding Price: $20–$30/hour A simple water activity that beginners can easily try. If you don’t want to buy a board yet, just search for "paddleboard rental" to find plenty of options. My two favorite spots: Moss Bay: Watch seaplanes take off and land, enjoy the city skyline, and see floating houseboats. Meydenbauer Bay: Previously REI, now operated by Best Kayak Rental. The lake is spacious with stunning views, and you can admire a row of luxurious lakeside homes. ⛵ Sailing Even beginners can find introductory sailing courses in Seattle, such as: Sail Sand Point Renton Sailing Center SailNow at The Center for Wooden Boats The SailNow course includes: 1 theory lesson + 5 practical lessons, with small class sizes (usually 1v2 or 1v3). If you pass the final test, you can rent a boat and sail on your own. However, sailing requires some natural aptitude—I found it more challenging than driving. You need to judge wind direction in real-time and control the sails and rudder. 🛥 Jet Skiing Recommended location: Waterfront Adventures Jet skiing is super easy to pick up and offers a thrilling burst of speed and excitement. You can ride through the draw span of the 520 Bridge, feeling a sense of freedom as you blend with nature. #SeattleSummer #PaddleBoarding #Sailing #JetSkiing #WaterActivities #SeattleOutdoors #SummerFun
