Seattle Thai Cuisine | Ballard Community’s Hip and Spicy Thai Joint

That’s right, this place is actually called “Thai Cool.” Located between Ballard and Phinney Ridge, it has a great summer vibe, and the outdoor porch is perfect for sunny days when you want to bring your dog along. 🌟 Mango Sticky Rice: Particularly impressive, made with champagne mangoes, just in season! It’s not about the skill; it’s about the joy of having someone peel the mango for you. 🌟 Pork Khao Mok Gai: Not spicy enough, lacks the wok hei, but the seasoning is to my taste, not as sweet as other Thai places in Seattle. It doesn’t get cloying even if you eat a lot. 🌟 Crying Tiger: Thinly sliced grilled beef, the sauce is great, and the beef is tender, similar to the beef version of Kin Len Thai’s grilled beef tongue. 🌟 Panang Curry: The flavor is spot on, but the sauce is a bit runny, probably catering to American tastes. Overall, the taste is above average. It might not beat some of the trendy spots, but the mango sticky rice is fantastic, and the Crying Tiger and Pork Khao Mok Gai are both highly recommended. The ambiance is a bonus in the summer! If you live nearby, picking up a work lunch is also a great deal, and the prices are reasonable. Four dishes + Thai tea for $75 📍 Thaiku #SeattleFood #SeattleEats #SeattleThaiCuisine
