Seattle travel guide:Schweitzer
🔶 Mountain Layout: The ski area is divided into the Schweitzer Bowl and the Outback Bowl. The mountain has only two green runs, with the majority being blue and black diamond trails. 🔹 For Blue Runners: Focus on lifts like Basin Express, Cedar Park Express, and Stella. Some blue runs are notably long, such as GYPSY, VAGABOND, and CAT TRACK. Generally, the longer, winding blue runs are flatter and free of moguls, while shorter, more direct routes are steeper. This clear distinction makes it great for progressive skill building. 🔹 For Black Diamond Skiers: You can pretty much ski all over the mountain. It's worth noting that there are fewer cliffs and rocks here compared to some other resorts. 💰 Tickets & Passes: IKON Full Pass: Unlimited access. IKON Base Pass: Includes 5 days with blackout dates. Adult day tickets: Range from $120-$135. Multi-day tickets offer discounts. Weekends and holidays have night skiing until 7 PM (starting from the 26th night in 2024—check the official website for specifics). 🏨 Accommodation: There are plenty of lodging options right at the resort. Alternatively, you can stay in the towns of Ponderay or Sandpoint, which are only about a 20-minute drive to the mountain. 🅿️ Parking: Gateway Lot: Free, near the village, but fills up early. Fall Line Lot: Free, at the base of a green run—very convenient (we always park here). Lakeview Lot: Right at the lodge entrance, $25 on weekends and holidays (free for those staying at the resort). 🚌 Shuttle Service: A free shuttle runs from the base (Red Barn Park & Ride area) to the ski area. The first shuttle up is at 6:30 AM, and the last return trip is at 5:30 PM. There are also shuttle services for night skiing on specific dates. #SeattleSkiing #SchweitzerMountain #SkiResort #IKONPass #WinterSports#Seattle#Seattle life
