Seattle Weekend | Ukiyo-e Hokusai Art

I visited the Seattle Art Museum just in time for the tail end of the Hokusai ukiyo-e exhibition. Tickets were around $32 per person (a bit pricey), and the museum isn’t very large—you can explore it in about two hours. Two limited-time exhibitions were particularly noteworthy: 🌊 Hokusai Ukiyo-e Series, which ended on January 21, 2024 🐟 Calder Series, which ran until August 2024 To be honest, I didn’t know much about these exhibits before going, but after touring them, I found them quite worthwhile. The museum wasn’t crowded during our visit, but we noticed queue barriers outside the Hokusai gallery, so I imagine the last few weekends might have been busier. It’s a good idea to plan your timing in advance. Both inside the Hokusai gallery and on the first floor, there are gift shops that are fun to browse—I’d definitely recommend checking them out. šŸ“ Seattle Art Museum: 1300 1st Ave, Seattle Hours: 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM (closed on Tuesdays) šŸ…æļø For parking, street parking is recommended—it’s cheaper and usually easier to find. Across from the museum is a locally famous chocolate shop, Fran's, perfect for picking up some sweet treats afterward. #Seattle#Seattlelife#Seattleguide#Seattleweekend#Seattlediary#museum
