Second Visit to Culver City - The Shay 🏙️
My first stay was as an Explorist in a twin room, and my review at the time was that it offered very low value for money—quite expensive for what you get. However, the room faced away from the street and was very quiet. 🛌🔇 This time, by chance, I stayed again and had a completely different experience. As a Globalist, I successfully got upgraded to a suite ⬆️. But the layout of this suite was... kind of strange? Also, there’s an above-ground metro line outside 🚇, and the soundproofing is just okay. (The front desk offers free metro cards for a round trip to Santa Monica! 🏖️) The hotel lobby is very well-designed (and super Instagrammable 📷). Last time, breakfast 🥣 was served by the rooftop pool—semi-open air with great views. Surprisingly, it’s been moved to the first floor now, and the menu has changed (it’s become pretty average with no standout dishes 😅). The dining atmosphere is still pleasant, but it just can’t compare to the previous rooftop setup. 🥹 🅿️ Valet Parking Only (used points to cover it, though! 🙂) 🎈 The location is quite good—close to the Getty Center and Santa Monica Beach, and right next to Apple’s offices. Interestingly, weekday rates seem to be higher than weekends! Whether you're in town for business or leisure, The Shay offers a stylish base with convenient access to some of LA's best spots. Perfect for a short stay, especially if you're looking to explore Culver City's growing dining and arts scene! 🎬🍴 #LosAngeles #CulverCity #TheShay #HotelReview #GlobalistLife #LATravel #BoutiqueHotel #SantaMonica #GettyCenter #CityStay #HotelUpgrade #DesignHotel #WeekendGetaway #PointsTravel
