Select Oyster Bar | Boston Seafood Journal
A cozy seafood-focused spot in Back Bay, offering both table seating and bar counters π. The location couldn't be more convenient β step outside and you're in Boston's most vibrant shopping district! ποΈ π½οΈ Oysters - 3.5/5 β€οΈβ€οΈβ€οΈ Fresh oysters sold by the piece β honestly some of the freshest Iβve had in the U.S. No off flavors, and with a squeeze of lemon, they slide right down π. No grit or overpowering saltiness. Shucked right at the counter! A bit pricey but fair for the quality. Way larger than the ones I tried in DCβ¦ Recommended! π½οΈ MAINE MUSSELS - 4/5 β€οΈβ€οΈβ€οΈβ€οΈ A big win! π The mussels were impressively large β almost oyster-sized β and super fresh. The broth was a classic tangy tomato base enriched with coconut milk and cashews, creating rich, layered flavors. Donβt forget to dip the bread into that amazing sauce! An empty-plate-worthy dish. Highly recommend! π½οΈ PORTUGUESE SARDINE TOAST - 3/5 β€οΈβ€οΈβ€οΈ My first-ever Portuguese dish! π The sardines were well-prepared, fresh, and not overly salty or fishy. A nice touch: pickled radish on the side. Even as someone who usually avoids pickled radish, I have to admit it balanced the savory fish with a touch of sweetness. A pleasant surprise! π Address: 50 Gloucester St, Boston, MA 02115 π Overall Rating: 4/5 β€οΈβ€οΈβ€οΈβ€οΈ Boston seafood really stands out β big, fresh, and downright delicious! π¦ #SeafoodLover #BostonEats #BackBayDining #RestaurantRecommendation #BostonFoodScene #HiddenGem
