Select Oyster Bar | Boston Seafood Journal
A cozy seafood-focused spot in Back Bay, offering both table seating and bar counters 🐟. The location couldn't be more convenient – step outside and you're in Boston's most vibrant shopping district! 🛍️ 🍽️ Oysters - 3.5/5 ❤️❤️❤️ Fresh oysters sold by the piece – honestly some of the freshest I’ve had in the U.S. No off flavors, and with a squeeze of lemon, they slide right down 🍋. No grit or overpowering saltiness. Shucked right at the counter! A bit pricey but fair for the quality. Way larger than the ones I tried in DC… Recommended! 🍽️ MAINE MUSSELS - 4/5 ❤️❤️❤️❤️ A big win! 🏆 The mussels were impressively large – almost oyster-sized – and super fresh. The broth was a classic tangy tomato base enriched with coconut milk and cashews, creating rich, layered flavors. Don’t forget to dip the bread into that amazing sauce! An empty-plate-worthy dish. Highly recommend! 🍽️ PORTUGUESE SARDINE TOAST - 3/5 ❤️❤️❤️ My first-ever Portuguese dish! 😄 The sardines were well-prepared, fresh, and not overly salty or fishy. A nice touch: pickled radish on the side. Even as someone who usually avoids pickled radish, I have to admit it balanced the savory fish with a touch of sweetness. A pleasant surprise! 📍 Address: 50 Gloucester St, Boston, MA 02115 🌟 Overall Rating: 4/5 ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Boston seafood really stands out – big, fresh, and downright delicious! 🦞 #SeafoodLover #BostonEats #BackBayDining #RestaurantRecommendation #BostonFoodScene #HiddenGem
