Selene Aegean Bistro - A Taste of the Mediterranean 🌊✨
Had the most gorgeous girls' night out at this stunning spot! 🍽️💖 And of course, when gym rats find a mirror, you already know it's photo-op time 📸🔥 For such a visually stunning restaurant, I usually lower my food expectations—after all, the main goal is good vibes and great convos. But surprise surprise, the food was absolutely phenomenal! As a Mediterranean cuisine lover, all four of us left beyond satisfied. The only tiny note? Cocktails were a bit light on the alcohol—if you're a serious drinker, just go for wine or spirits! 🍷🥃 🧡 Starters 🧡 🌟🌟🌟 Horiatiki ($24) Next-level Greek salad! Compared to traditional versions, this one was richer and more flavorful. Even the bell peppers and feta (soaked in red wine!) absorbed all the delicious juices. The dressing and veggies were perfectly balanced. They used two types of cherry tomatoes—fresh halved ones and whole peeled ones (so juicy, they burst in your mouth). Only downside? The olives were a tad salty, but hey, great with wine! 🍅🧀 🌟🌟🌟 Manouri Saganaki ($22) Fried sheep’s cheese drizzled with honey and topped with raisins—zero gaminess, just creamy, sweet, and tangy perfection. The raisins cut through the richness like a dream! 🍯 🌟🌟🌟 Calamari ($22) Thick, meaty squid with a light, crispy coating—not the usual sad, rubbery kind. Dip it in the garlic aioli and thank me later. 🦑 🌟🌟🌟 Oyster Mushroom Souvlaki ($25) Grilled oyster mushrooms that tasted like street-food skewers (in the best way). Perfect with drinks, though the portion was a bit small for the price. ❤️ Mains ❤️ 🌟🌟🌟 Mussels & Octopus ($32) We ordered this twice—that’s how good it was! Seafood lovers, don’t skip this. I didn’t have the bread (carbs at night? No thanks), but the sauce was so good, it’s practically criminal not to sop it up. 🍞🐙 🌟🌟🌟 Branzino ($65) Whole sea bass simply grilled with herbs—crispy skin, tender flesh, and pure, clean flavors. A must-order for fish fans! 🐟 🤎 Dessert 🤎 🌟🌟🌟 Chocolate Hazelnut Torte ($14) Not too sweet thanks to the dark chocolate’s bitterness. Paired with a lightly sweet white wine, it was a flavor explosion! 🍫🍷 💭 Final Thoughts: Since it was our first time, we played it safe—but every dish was a winner! No regrets, great prices, and already planning my next visit. Gotta try the lamb chops next—I’m not usually a lamb person, but if anyone knows how to do it right, it’s the Greeks! 🐑🔥 #VancouverEats #VancouverFoodie #VancouverLife #AestheticRestaurant #VibeyDining #HiddenGem #MustVisitRestaurant #DesignerRestaurant #GreekFoodVan #BestEatsVancouver
