Silicon Valley Stanford | Palo Alto Vibe Restaurant Recommendation

The place is called Saint Michael’s Alley—it’s got such a cozy and intimate atmosphere, perfect for sitting down with a friend, having deep conversations, and enjoying an elegant dinner. 🕯️🍷 We ordered four dishes and two mocktails. They have daily specials written on a handwritten sheet, which the server described to us. One of the specials I tried was the Swordfish, while my friend ordered the Duck. For the starter, we also went with a special—Beet Gazpacho (a chilled Spanish soup with beets), but the flavor was just okay. For dessert, we had the Peach Bread Pudding, which was a bit too sweet for my taste. 🍑🍮 My main course was Grilled Swordfish—sautéed spinach and potatoes. 🐟 The fish was incredibly tender and delicious, though the zucchini side was slightly bitter. My friend had the Roasted Duck Breast, which was also nicely prepared. 👌 What’s interesting is that we actually met on Bumble, a dating app! During a trip to London, I noticed everyone was using it, so I signed up—and ended up joining Tinder and Hinge too. One day in the U.S., I decided to get a membership because there were so many likes I couldn’t see. We started chatting, and she became my first Bumble match! She works as an RA at Stanford. 👩🎓❤️ When I used Tinder in Hong Kong, I noticed the profiles felt more “aesthetically pleasing”—maybe it’s easier to connect with people of a similar background. Of course, there are plenty of beautiful people of all ethnicities, but on dating apps, it felt like the local crowd just knew how to present themselves better—lol! 😂 I’m interning at a startup, and after work, I waited for her to finish before we headed to dinner. The total came to a little over $130, and it was totally worth it—we left feeling happy and satisfied! 💸😊 Have you ever tried a dating app and made a real connection?
