Slow Travel is the Best Way to Experience It!

Compared to Washington’s solemnity and New York’s bustle, Boston has its own unique charm—rich in history and culture 🏛️. Instead of rushing through attractions, I took my time wandering through streets and campuses, soaking in the city’s academic atmosphere, free spirit, and relaxed vibe. If it’s your first time visiting Boston, I hope this 48-hour slow-paced guide helps you fall in love with the city! 💚 📌 Check out the full itinerary in Pic 18 (easy to follow!). I’ve also shared guides for Washington, New York, and a 10-day Eastern U.S. trip on my page! 🟩 Day 1: Campus & Academia Tour 🏫 MIT Kresge Auditorium & MIT Chapel – Unique modernist architecture ✨ Great Dome – Iconic MIT building, famous for the “Campus Police Car on the Dome” story 🚓 Stata Center – Wild deconstructivist design 🏗️ Coop Kendall Bookstore – A great spot for MIT merch and books 📚 🏫 Harvard University Johnston Gate – The classic entrance to Harvard Yard John Harvard Statue – Rub the shoe for good luck! (Everyone does it 😉) Harvard Yard – Students chatting, reading, and relaxing on the lawn 🧑‍🎓📖 Widener Library – Majestic and historic 📚 Memorial Hall – Beautiful Gothic architecture Harvard Art Museums – Small but impressive collection 🖼️ Coop Bookstore – Perfect for Harvard souvenirs! 🟪 Day 2: History & Freedom Trail Walk 🛤️ Freedom Trail – Boston’s Soul Follow the red brick path (over 3 miles) through the heart of Boston’s history. 📍 Highlights in order: Boston Common – America’s oldest public park 🌳 Massachusetts State House – Golden dome shining bright ⭐ Granary Burying Ground – Resting place of historical figures Old City Hall – Franklin statue in the courtyard 🗽 Old State House – Historic speeches and events Old South Meeting House – Where the Boston Tea Party was planned! 🫖 Old North Church – Oldest church in Boston 🏛️ 📌 Lunch break at Quincy Market – Lots of food options! 🍕🍦 🍝 North End (Little Italy) The Freedom Trail passes through here—great for dinner!
