Snow Lake | A Moment of Gentleness in the Snow

The little birds at the mountaintop stared intently, yet their unguarded presence was heartwarming and healing in its own way. Personally, I wouldn’t call the view of Snow Lake itself breathtaking, but the continuous climb toward the lake during the latter part of the trail was truly beautiful! 🥾 Snow Lake Trail Less than an hour from Seattle. With microspikes, the hike was straightforward. We didn’t descend all the way to the lakeshore and completed the round trip in under three hours. 🅿️ Parking is shared with the Alpental lot. Outside of snow season, a Northwest Forest Pass is accepted. Starting November 29, the ski area parking fee of $25 applies, or you can use a ski area pass. ⚠️ Snow chains are not currently required. However, avalanches are frequent in winter—always check weather and trail conditions before heading out and prioritize safety. 📝 Trail Tips: Dress in layers—temperatures can drop sharply near the lake. Carry essentials: water, snacks, a headlamp, and a basic first-aid kit. Even on cloudy days, the snow-covered landscape offers serene and photogenic moments ❄️📸. #Seattle#Seattleguide#Seattlelife#trekking#travelguide
