So Many Spots, So Little Time – Boston Brunch Edition

Cafe Sauvage A French-style brunch hotspot with great ambiance and food. The exterior wall is perfect for photo ops 📸, but be prepared to wait in line—no reservations allowed. 🌟 Duck Eggs Benedict is a must-try. The caraway hollandaise sauce is tangy and refreshing, the poached eggs blend perfectly with the duck without any gaminess, and it’s all served over a crispy hash brown—delicious! Steak and eggs, avocado toast, and French toast are decent but not standout. Saltie Girl A seafood brunch spot on the pricier side. 🦞 The lobster roll is fragrant, and the bread is excellent. Pair it with clam chowder for a satisfying meal, though it’s on the expensive side for a lobster roll—probably not worth it if that’s all you’re ordering. 🥩 Steak Tartare Toast is tasty! The lump crab was just okay—I’d skip it next time. The oysters were incredibly fresh and not fishy at all on our first visit, though we did encounter a bit of grit and a fishy taste on our second try. Cafe Weekend My go-to brunch spot—delicious, generous portions, and great value. It’s close to campus in Allston. The space is small, so avoid peak hours. I usually go around 9 AM or 1 PM and can always find a seat, but weekends do get busy. Everything on the menu is solid, but I highly recommend: 🌟 Drop The Eggs 🌟 Boston Steak Cheese 🌟 Toowoomba Panini (a creamy mushroom panini—must-order! The bread soaked in the sauce is incredibly satisfying) For dessert, try the Matcha Cheesecake or Nutella Hazelnut Croffle. Tatte A well-known brunch institution in Boston. 🌟 Both the Potato, Mushroom, & Bacon Shakshuka and the Traditional Shakshuka are safe bets! One features a creamy white sauce with potatoes, bacon, and mushrooms, while the other is a classic tomato-based version with lamb meatballs. The Salmon Rice Bowl is popular, though I found it a bit dry. Their drinks are a highlight—the Lemon Mint Soda and Pistachio Latte are both refreshing and delicious! BU Dining Hall The most “explored” spot has to be the school cafeteria. If I had to pick, I’d recommend breakfast at West Dining Hall. 🌟 The fried bacon and made-to-order omelets are great. Don’t miss the daily-flavored milkshakes at West—surprisingly tasty! #StudentFoodExplorer #StudentEats #Brunch #HiddenGems #BU #BostonLife #StudyInBoston
