Solo Dining in Boston|Ma Maison

A girl with serious cravings for foie gras went to Ma Maison for a lavish lunch! Located near Beacon Hill, this French restaurant was the perfect spot. Two courses, one cocktail, and one dessert totaled $94. First Course: Pan-Seared Foie Gras with Red Wine-Poached Pear | $23 ✅ Highly recommended Compared to La Voile, I prefer this place—La Voile’s foie gras portion seems to have shrunk by half 😭. To satisfy my craving, I chose Ma Maison. Even though two pieces of foie gras were a bit rich for one person, I finished them easily with the complimentary bread (or maybe I was just really hungry). The foie gras was perfectly executed and consistently good—I’ve never been disappointed here 👍. Cocktail 🍹: Aperol Spritz | $16 ✅ Worth trying I randomly ordered this classic cocktail—Aperol liqueur, Prosecco, soda water, and a splash of orange juice. The refreshing orange aroma with a hint of bitterness paired perfectly with the foie gras, cutting through the richness. Of course, if you prefer something more refined, their extensive wine list is also a great choice 🍷. Second Course: Duck Leg Confit with Brussels Sprouts | $25 ✅ Highly recommended I absolutely loved this dish! The crispy, fragrant skin and tender, juicy meat reminded me of Beijing roast duck. Paired with Brussels sprouts, it felt like a healthy yet indulgent treat. Highly recommended 👍 (Not sure if it’s on the dinner menu—I didn’t see it when I visited a few nights ago). Dessert: Passion Fruit, Raspberry, and Cassis Sorbet | $10 Their most famous dessert is the soufflé (highly recommended, but it takes about 15 minutes to prepare). Since I was in a bit of a hurry and already full, I opted for this sorbet instead. Three flavors: passion fruit, raspberry, and blackcurrant. The passion fruit was my favorite—I finished the whole scoop! The blackcurrant tasted a bit like canned cherries, which wasn’t my thing. The three scoops were quite filling for one person, so I’d recommend sharing. Their soufflé is one of my favorites—freshly baked, not too sweet, and drizzled with condensed milk for a creamy, decadent finish. Highly recommend!! #Boston #SoloDiningInBoston #BostonLife #BostonFood
