Landed in Jinka at 8 PM after a bumpy minibus ride (slow and rough roads). Didn’t plan to stay overnight, but the spontaneous detour turned out to be totally worth it—saw everything we wanted! 🌍 Itinerary (6:30 AM Start) Private 4x4 with driver + guide + local fixer. Tribal Highlights: 1️⃣ Key Afer Market (Thursday only): Livestock, produce, and crafts (open till ~4 PM). No escaping guide fees if arriving after dawn. 2️⃣ Mursi Tribe (Lip-Plate People):Ketupat Kandangan HJ Mursinah Met near Ayu Ethiopia Tours—heavily commercialized (they only wear decorations for pre-arranged visits). 3️⃣ Hamer Tribe (Red Clay Hair): Many at the Thursday market (intermarry with Bena tribe). Lucky break: Our fixer took us to off-the-radar Hamer homes, where we tried local herbal tea and fiery pepper cassava! 💰 Costs Konso → Jinka minibus: 1,000 ETB (front seat). Private car (full day): $120 (includes photos + tips). Tribal souvenirs: 600 ETB.
