Solo Trip

Calgary 5 - day, 4 - night Travel Guide (Part 1): Feeling of Having Nothing Left to Explore I planned to spend four days traveling solo in Calgary. Originally, I intended to use one day to visit the surrounding parks, but it didn't work out, so I had to spend four days purely exploring the urban area of Calgary... Eventually, I played until I felt that no one in Calgary knew the DT (downtown) area better than me... πŸ˜… If you just want to visit the city of Calgary, this note on Little Red Book should be more comprehensive than any other. πŸ˜‚ If you also want to go to Banff, you can check out the previousguide) on my homepage! πŸ“ Itinerary Arrangement ▫️ Day 01: Chinatown β†’ The Bow β†’ Olympic Plaza β†’ Zcrew Cafe β†’ Studio Bell β†’ Central Library β†’ 17 Ave β†’ Happy Lamb Hotpot πŸ—Ί I flew from eastern Canada to Calgary. Thanks to the time - zone advantage, I arrived very early. πŸš€ So, after coming out of the airport, I wandered all the way from the north to the south of the DT area. I saw the iconic face - shaped sculpture at the entrance of The Bow and the geese walking in Olympic Plaza. 🦒 My final destination was to have brunch at Zcrew! This store is very popular on the Internet. Personally, I thought it was okay, but it didn't meet my high expectations? However, after a few days of traveling, I felt that the food in Calgary was a bit scarce... πŸ˜‚ In the afternoon, I continued to explore the DT area and visited Studio Bell and Central Library, which were very close. The library in Calgary is really beautiful and new, with distinct architectural features and a full range of functional spaces. πŸ“š But the most pleasant surprise on the first day was definitely Studio Bell, the music museum, which is well - worth a visit! Due to the word limit, I will write about it specifically later. πŸ‘ In the evening, I went to 17th Avenue for a City Walk, hoping to solve my dinner by the way. However... I would call the stores on this street the "natural enemy of introverts", as the atmosphere was too lively and I was a bit deterred. πŸ˜… In the end, I went to eat at Happy Lamb Hotpot. It's hard to say that I didn't have my eyes on the Oomomo next door to buy some stationery for my bullet journal. πŸ› ▫️ Day 02: 9 Ave β†’ St Patrick's Island β†’ Contemporary Calgary β†’ Seoul Cafe β†’ Peace Bridge β†’ Core β†’ Stephen Avenue Walk β†’ CF Chinook Centre 🌈 Guys, the 9th Avenue in Calgary (the Inglewood area) is really worth visiting! There are plant stores, home - furnishing stores, bookstores, and coffee shops... It's very suitable for weekend relaxation. 🌳 St Patrick's Island is a viewing island from which you can see the DT area from the north. Unfortunately, at the end of April, the trees were still very bare, and the scenery was not that great. 🌴 After getting off the island, I went to Contemporary Calgary, which is in the west of the DT area. The museum is not very large. There is a newly - launched plant - themed exhibition recently, which is quite interesting. The artist uses composite materials to create plants that are incredibly lifelike. 🌡 In the afternoon, since I wanted to see the Peace Bridge, I stopped by the 2D comic - style coffee shop. There were a lot of people, and the store was beautiful, but the food was just so - so. β˜• After crossing the Peace Bridge and returning to the south, I started my shopping - mall tour. Core is in the city center, and the fourth floor is an indoor botanical garden. 🌷 Then I went to Chinook in the south to have dinner (Shang Shang Qian, I felt it was a bit disappointing)... But there was a Mirror Mirror exhibition in the Chinook mall, which was a small surprise. It was a light and shadow + mirror - image themed exhibition, quite fun. πŸͺž There's not enough space to write about the next two days. For most people traveling to Calgary, the above already includes the main popular places to visit. πŸ˜‰ I'll write about some more off - the - beaten - path places in the next part. hahahah 😜 #Calgary #CalgaryTravel #51vlog #TravelGuide
