Some niche experiences explored in Colombo over 2 days 🛺

Every day, I either walk 10,000 steps seriously in the urban area or shuttle around by tuk-tuk 🗺️ 1️⃣ The Gallery Café🍆 Converted from Bawa's studio, it integrates a café, restaurant, gallery and shop. The style is very Bawa-esque, especially the layout of the women's restroom.🍎 🍞 The vanity lights are exactly the same as those in the restrooms of Kandawala Heritage Hotel, giving a strong old Shanghai vibe 💡 As soon as you enter, you'll see the iconic lotus pond. Paintings and artworks are everywhere, which is very atmospheric 🪷 The overall price is on the higher side. 🍎 If you want to sit outdoors for dinner, it's recommended to make a reservation in advance. 📍 2 Alfred House Rd, Colombo🍝 2️⃣ Paradise Road Paradise Road is really great for shopping. It's definitely the best place to buy souvenirs in Colombo before leaving. 🍡 There are many types of products with suitable prices, ranging from high to low. I found my favorite bookmarks 🔖 and coffee iron spoons. Love them so much!! After shopping, I went to the second floor for some food and drinks. The meals are also very yummy, and the cost performance is higher than that of Gallery Café.🍣🍣 📍 213 Srimath Anagarika Dharmapala Mawatha, Colombo 3️⃣ Colombo Fort☕ We set off from here specifically to take the coastal train. We only bought tickets to Mount Lavinia.🍲 After arriving, we didn't exit the station, crossed the overpass and took the train back to Kollupitiya in the opposite direction. So we got to see the Indian Ocean twice, which was very satisfying 🚞 🎫 40 rupees 4️⃣ Colombo National Museum The National Museum, built in 1877, is the oldest museum in Sri Lanka . 🍱🍱The two-story white Western-style building doesn't look big but is very worth visiting. There are special exhibitions, painting exhibitions and Sri Lankan history exhibitions with many exhibits. The most shocking one is Zheng He's "Stele of Alms to the Sri Lankan Buddhist Temple", which is a good window to understand the local culture.🍜 If there's a downside, it's that there's no air conditioning 🎫 1200 rupees 📍 Albert Crescent, Colombo 5️⃣ Spa Ceylon Royal Indulgence Spa & Boutique I didn't buy any products, mainly wanted to experience the spa. A 90-minute foot massage with a local therapist costs over 6000 rupees. They do foot soaking with flowers, and massage the shoulders, neck, head and feet in one stop 💆 They use their own products, and will provide eye masks and blankets for a comfortable lie-down.🍶🍶 The technique isn't as comfortable as our traditional massage, it's more about the experience.
