Some say this is the best fried chicken in the US?🤔
🥕Today in Deep Ellum, I came across this place I had seen online before, which is supposedly the "best fried chicken in the US"—Gus's World Famous Fried Chicken. We decided to give it a try before they closed for the night. 🥹The peeling walls, traditional tables and chairs, rusty pillars, checkered tablecloths, and interesting paintings, plus the big graffiti at the entrance, it's truly unique in style hahaha. ♥Since I wasn't very hungry, I ordered a 3-piece wing to taste. The wait was a bit long because it's made fresh to order. This place's fried chicken is seasoned with a strong flavor and a slight spiciness. The skin is crispy, but it's not the kind of crunch from breadcrumbs; the crispiness comes entirely from the chicken skin itself. The meat inside is still juicy, and the salt and spiciness have been marinated in. It smells a bit greasy, so it's better to let it cool down a bit before eating. The seasoning is somewhat similar to the spicy chicken wings from KFC back home. You can give it a try and see if it's similar. Overall, it's not bad, but if you insist it's the best in the US, well, Jollibee hasn't had its say yet. 💯The sides come with tomato baked beans and salad, which are pretty standard. You might want to try some of their other sides. Oh, and they use disposable utensils and trays, so there's no real ambiance. You can take it to go. They also have daily specials (like 4 legs for $13), just for your reference. #Dallas #DallasCuisine #FriedChicken #AmericanFriedChicken #BestFriedChickenInUSA #AmericanStyleFriedChicken
