Southern California Beach Getaway | Oceana Santa Monica 🏖️

I used a free night certificate for this stay! Before arriving, I chatted with the hotel and they kindly agreed to a suite upgrade! 😍 Upon check-in, the staff warmly showed me two suite types to choose from. One was a bit smaller, called the Seaside Oceanfront Suite. The other was the Lanai One-Bedroom Suite. There was a cute little rocking chair right outside the room. Since the hotel isn’t directly on the beach, a full ocean view wasn’t a must, so I went with the Lanai One-Bedroom Suite in the end. 🏡 The breakfast was a bit disappointing—no buffet option. With a 50 daily credit for two people, we could only each get one Acai Bowl, which was the cheapest item at 24 each. 🥣🙃 The hotel offers complimentary bicycle rentals, and there’s a yoga class held every morning at 9 AM! 🚴♀️🧘♀️ Valet parking is the only option provided by the hotel and costs 69 per day. But honestly, it’s totally unnecessary! Street parking with meters is available right across the street—free from 6 PM to 9 AM, and only 2.50 per hour other times. The area around the hotel is residential, so you can usually find free street parking too. 🅿️💡 The location is super walkable! You can easily stroll to the beach, Santa Monica Downtown, and the Santa Monica Pier. There’s a beautiful oceanfront bike and walking path—perfect for people-watching (lots of fit and stylish folks around!). The pier is lively with street performers and has that perfect vacation vibe. 🎡🎶 Drove from the Bay Area and back using Tesla Autopilot—it was smooth most of the way!
