Spanish flavor & Latin American fusion in Mountain View-- Cascal

📍 Cascal Located at the edge of Mountain View's main street, it's not too crowded around here. In the evening, it's quite pleasant to sit outdoors next to a fireplace with a glass of wine. On my second visit, I only ordered the main courses from the House Specialists menu, which are better than those on the Main Menu. 👉Arroz Negro $25 A great value for money dish, this squid ink seafood risotto is rich with various types of seafood, a thin layer of crispy rice, and well-balanced saltiness. 👉 Peruvian Seafood Stew $35 With a touch of Asian fusion, it has a slight creaminess and spices, reminiscent of a mild coconut curry. The sweet white potato adds extra points. 👉 Pork Chile Verde $27 An unremarkable, slightly spicy, slow-cooked pork shoulder. Not worth ordering. 👉Paella Cascal $57/Large A mixed seafood and meat rice dish with shrimp, clams, mussels, sausages, chicken, and pork. The shrimp are quite large, and the pork is similar to the kind you'd find in tacos—stewed but not shredded. The rice is wet on the outside and hard on the inside, and the taste is not particularly commendable. 👉Eggplant Tian $13.5 I enjoyed this smoky eggplant dish with layers of tomato sauce and cheese in the middle. It's quite suitable to have with the risotto. 👉Banana Leaf Chicken $15 The grilled chicken lacks flavor, possibly due to the leaves it's served on, which give it a slightly bitter taste. 400 Castro St, Mountain View, CA 94041 #Mountain View#Cascal#food diary
