Spice Level Assessment – Medium Spicy! 🌢️

(Not for those sensitive to spice) The beef tripe portion was smaller than the chicken gizzard ), but both were super crunchy and well-seasoned. Huge portions – the two dishes we ordered could easily feed three people. Verdict: Delicious, would return! 🌟🌟🌟 3️⃣ Omomo My first try in 2021 instantly made it my top bubble tea in the U.S. – and after trying many across NYC and the Bay Area, I still stand by it. We ordered Omomo Matcha and Itchy Peachy, both at 30% sugar. Itchy Peachy – one sip and the white peach flavor bursts in your mouth (specifically the fuzzy-skin kind!). Omomo Matcha – I’ve tried similar matcha tornado drinks at many places, but none beat the original. The brΓ»lΓ©e isn’t too rich, the matcha is slightly bitter, and the slushie texture is just right. Verdict: #1 Must-Drink in LA! 🌟🌟🌟 4️⃣ T-kebob Staying in Irvine, so we grabbed late-night skewers nearby. The decor and menu felt very Korean-Chinese (Yanbian style) – like stepping into a K-drama office party room. Skewers were decent, but the dipping sauces were weak (just give me Liupo or Danshan chili paste instead). Not as good as Yanggi BBQ in Jersey. Verdict: Fine if you’re nearby, not worth a special trip. 5️⃣ Three Meow Tea Tried Rice Frost (fermented rice ice) and Silky Green (cucumber ice). My husband loved the water chestnut popping pearls in Rice Frost, but I prefer the osmanthus fermented rice tea from β€œBen Gong Cha.” The cucumber ice was just okay – nothing special. Verdict: Drinkable, available in the East Bay too – no need to go out of your way. 6️⃣ Dong Ting Xian Did my research before coming – LA’s Hunan food scene still has its top players, so we returned here for a second visit. Chopped Fish Head – fried fish pieces stir-fried with horn peppers and perilla. The fish tasted fresh, peppers were fragrant but not too spicy. Could’ve used more perilla though. Tea Oil Stir-Fried Chicken – tea oil aroma was great, peppers were like bird’s eye chilies. Sour & Spicy Lotus Roots – crispy, flavorful, well-marinated. Verdict: Tasty, would come back! 🌟🌟 7️⃣ Chagee Boya Juexian tasted just like in China – no need to explain further. At around $5–6, it totally beats Starbucks! 🌟🌟 #LAEats #LASichuanFood #LAHunanFood #LABubbleTea πŸ₯€
