🌆 Spring Break City Trip: Indianapolis
After returning from Miami, I crashed hard 😴—but still woke up early the next day to join a tour organized by my school’s ISSA to Indianapolis, the capital of Indiana! 🏛️ Visited the State House: The guide told us that when the building was completed in the late 19th century, it already had elevators and AC—so impressive! 🙌 🎖️ Explored the Soldiers & Sailors Monument in downtown—a majestic landmark! 🏞️ Strolled along the Canal Walk after deciding not to pay for the State Museum entry 😅. Elderly folks walking by spotted my ND sweatshirt and shouted “Go Irish!” ☘️—our school spirit is everywhere (haha!). 🛒 Tried Whole Foods’ middle-class white people food 🥗… and got hungry again right after 😂. 🥢 Last stop: Saraga International Market! Found a Tianjin snack stall run by fellow Chinese—originally went for a Jianbing, but ended up devouring a bowl of Sichuan beef noodles 🍜🤤 (was too busy eating to take proper pics—and also scared I’d miss the bus!). Although I couldn’t help remarking (and low-key complaining 😅) about how quiet—even sleepy—this state capital felt, I could still sense traces of its past prosperity. 🌸 Spring break series—officially concluded! ✨ As someone based in the rural Midwest, this trip showed me a different side of America 🇺🇸. History I’d only read in books came alive during my travels. Now it’s back to the village to battle with my thesis 📚… already looking forward to the next adventure! #StudyInTheUS #Indianapolis #MidwestLife #TravelDiary 🌟
