The Soldiers & Sailors Monument in downtown Indianapolis is not only a powerful tribute to Indianaâs veterans, but now itâs also become a lively community gathering space with some exciting new additions.
The monument itself is breathtakingâstanding tall in Monument Circle, it offers a sense of grandeur and history that makes it a must-visit for locals and tourists alike. The surrounding area is well-kept and vibrant, and the newly added features make it more than just a historic landmark.
One of the highlights is the new interactive play area, which has been a hit with families and kids. Itâs thoughtfully designed with modern equipment that blends well with the monumentâs classic architecture, providing a great spot for children to enjoy while adults relax nearby.

Although a lot of noise around due to the traffic. However, it is one of the main attractions of the city. Besides the one at the center, there are many sculptures around the main pillar. There is a Civil War Museum at the ground level. The pedestrian walkway around the circle has the names of US Army soldiers engraved on the walkway encircling the monument. Around the place, you will see many horse carts but they are very expensive. Do not miss the Southbend Chocolate Cafe on the Southwest side of the monument. They serve one of the best ice creams in town. Everything in downtown is pretty much walkable. The famous Canal of Indianapolis is about 10mins walk from this place. The famous Cafe Patachou, famous for its breakfast and brunch, is a 5mins walk. Parking is a little problem here but there is an economical parking at W Wabash Street behind Hilton Indianapolis, from where the place is less than 5mins walk. Overall, a great...

This happens around Nov every year with pre booking. Costs around $50 for per person for 5k run. The locations would be beautiful and the run would be within downtown streets with lot of people. I absolutely recommend attending atleast once in a lifetime. The marathon still happens in cold weather. So be prepared for the weather. Starts around 8 in the morning and most of the streets would be closed for driving. So be prepared for...
