The park features a massive reservoir built in the third century that serves as an important habitat for elephants, making the park the largest gathering place for Asian elephants in the world. The park is also a paradise for wildlife, such as the blue-faced Malkoha, Jerdon's bushlark, various species of bulbuls and eagles, as well as purple-faced langurs and other monkeys.
