Sri Lanka | Galle Fort, a World Heritage Site

Galle Fort was first built in the 16th century by the Portuguese, and later expanded and renovated by the Dutch and British. πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§ The fort is actually not very large; it takes less than an hour to walk around it, and the attractions are relatively concentrated, all within walking distance.🐡 πŸ‘‰πŸ‘ˆInside the fort, there are numerous relics that are full of vicissitudes yet well-preserved. The streets with European style have a peaceful atmosphere, giving people the illusion that time has stood still.🍐🎼 🏝️ The seaside scenery is very beautiful. Combined with the remaining historical sites, even from a tourist's perspective, it is highly ornamental. πŸ’– Walking on the city walls, you can see the remaining blockhouses and ruins, and you can also find that there are large pieces of coral rock in many parts of the walls, which is one of the architectural features of Galle Fort and very photogenic.😊😊 πŸ˜‚ But the downside is that it's extremely sunny. It's recommended to come before 9 am or after 4 pm when the sun is not so strong. πŸ‘Ÿ I stayed at a hotel inside the fort, which had a sea view. I slept in, had breakfast, and went out around 10 am to 12 pm. It was really extremely hot and sunny. I changed three sets of clothes a day.🍑 πŸŒ… The most beautiful time in Galle is sunrise and sunset. This is the best place to watch them. In the early morning, the sun covers the earth with rays of lightand in the evening, looking in the opposite direction, the sunset on the sea is also stunningly beautiful.πŸ’—πŸ’— πŸ¬β˜•οΈ There are many things to explore inside the old town, including attractions such as the clock tower and churches, as well as some coffee shops and souvenir stores.🍩 It's very suitable for wandering aimlessly. However, the shops are relatively small, so you don't spend much time in each one. You can stop for a coffee and just zone out. πŸ… When the sun sets, you can stand on the fort's walls and overlook the sunset on the sea, which is extremely beautiful!πŸ‘ 🏏 People here love playing cricket. There is also an international cricket match center and tennis courts near the old town. When I stayed in Galle Old Town, there happened to be a cricket match. Sitting on the city wall in the evening, enjoying the sea breeze from the Indian Ocean and watching the cricket match was extremely pleasant. 🀲🀲Chatting with local children, I learned that the match would last a long time, until the next morning. 🚞 Transportation: Galle Railway Station is in the urban area outside Galle Fort. If you arrive by train, after getting off, walk through the cricket ground, and it's 500 meters away. There's no need to take a tuk-tuk. I traveled from other cities to Galle and then took the train back to Colombo.πŸ₯¬ The railway tracks are less than 5 meters away from the sea, allowing me to experience the "Spirited Away" sea train.🚞 If you have enough time, you can also visit Galle's new urban area, where there are some churches and characteristic buildings that are also very good.πŸ‘πŸ‘ #SriLanka#Galle#GalleFort
