Sri Lanka Hiking Guide
✅ Little Adam's Peak Hiking (Difficulty Level: ⭐⭐) 🎫 Admission: Free 📍 Little Adam's Peak is over a thousand meters above sea level, with a manageable intensity that is suitable even for children. The entire route offers beautiful scenery, and once you reach the summit, there are many rocks and viewing platforms perfect for taking photos and memories. ⚠️ Warm Reminders: 1️⃣ It is recommended to hike before sunset as the daytime scenery is better, and the early morning is cooler, ideal for hiking. 2️⃣ If you want to watch the sunrise from Little Adam's Peak, you can choose to hike at night. 3️⃣ Due to the uneven terrain, comfortable and fitting shoes are necessary. ✅ Horton Plains Hiking (Difficulty Level: ⭐⭐⭐) 🎫 Admission: $25 (only for the ticket, cash only) 📍 The hiking trail in Horton Plains is roughly circular, about 9.5 kilometers long, and can be traversed in either a clockwise or counterclockwise direction. It is the only national park in Sri Lanka that allows visitors to hike, with an altitude of over two thousand meters, posing a certain level of difficulty and requiring physical strength and fitness. ⚠️ Warm Reminders: 1️⃣ Plastic items are not allowed in the park; staff will check. 2️⃣ Horton Plains often experiences rain☔, so remember to bring an umbrella or raincoat, and it might be a bit chilly in the morning, so it's recommended to wear a light jacket. 3️⃣ Pay attention to sun protection, or you might get sunburned☀. 4️⃣ Bring enough water and energy supplies, and wear comfortable non-slip shoes or hiking boots. 5️⃣ If you want to see World's End, you need to go early; otherwise, after 9 am, fog will set in, and everything will be shrouded in white. ✅ Sinharaja Rainforest Hiking (Difficulty Level: ⭐⭐⭐) 🎫 Admission: The rainforest offers 3h, 6h, and 8h tours, with different depths of entry into the rainforest and varying prices. 📍 One of the few remaining unexplored primary forests in the world, it is a true biological treasure trove, where you can witness the mysterious beauty usually only seen in documentaries. Sinharaja also reminds me of the movie "The Jungle Book"; I wonder if anyone has seen it... ⚠️ Warm Reminders: 1️⃣ Entry into the Sinharaja Rainforest must be accompanied by a guide. 2️⃣ The rainy season is hot and humid, with rainfall up to 5,000 millimeters, so the dry season (January to April) is the best time to visit the rainforest. 3️⃣ Be mindful of insects! There are leeches, scorpions, and the like in the rainforest, so it is advisable to buy special long socks locally and follow the guide's instructions to prepare in advance. #Ella#Little Adam's Peak Trailhead#Horton Plains National Park#Sinharaja Forest Reserve#SriLanka #SriLankaTravel#trip diary#travel guide
