Sri lanka travel day5:From Kandy to Nuwara Eliya
🌟Gem Museum A gemstone shopping venue with Chinese-speaking guides. Visitors are first shown an introduction to Sri Lankan gems before shopping. The prices of the gems are reasonable and negotiable. Kandy to Nuwara Eliya The journey takes about 2.5 hours and is along a mountain road, with beautiful highland tea plantation scenery along the way, which is very pleasing to the eye. 🏭Tea Factory Visit at Damro One of the largest and most famous tea factories in Sri Lanka. Visitors are taken on a tour of the tea manufacturing facilities. The tea tasting area has two floors; the first floor is a large hall with many people where waiters serve free black tea for tasting, and the tea purchase area is also quite spacious. We did not go to the second floor, but it is said that one can taste different types of tea there, making the selection process more convenient. 🏤Nuwara Eliya Post Office Located in the center of the town, it is not only a post office but also an old building exuding British colonial charm, making it a beautiful spot for photos. There are Lion Rock stamps for sale. 🍰Afternoon Tea at Grand Hotel Distinguished visitors such as the British Queen and the Japanese Emperor have visited this hotel. The hotel has a great environment, with a small garden and live singers, creating a full atmosphere. Afternoon tea costs 5500 rupees per person, with unlimited refills of black tea and a three-tiered tea stand for photos, but the taste is personally found to be average. The waiters are quite busy and sometimes unable to provide service promptly. 🌊Lake Gregory The entrance fee is said to be 100 rupees. Due to time constraints, we did not visit but only saw it from the car, and the scenery is quite nice. #Nuwara Eliya#Bandarawela#Kandy#Lake Gregory#Nuwara Eliya Post Office#Tea Factory# Grand Hotel#Gem Museum
