St. Martin's Wine Bistro – Worth a Try
👍On the weekend, I tried a French restaurant in Dallas Downtown. The atmosphere was perfect, with background music played by a pianist throughout the meal; the service was top-notch as well. Let's start with what I didn't like. I might never be able to fall in love with foie gras, which is so smooth and delicate. However, the accompanying scallops were perfectly pan-fried, very bouncy, and paired with tangy beets, which helped cut through the richness. Next was the pan-seared venison. Personally, I'm not a big fan of gamey flavors, and it was a bit tough, but the side dishes were delicious, with the aroma of butter. 😊My favorite dish was the lobster bisque. It had the most pronounced lobster roe flavor of any lobster soup I've ever had. Previously, I've found lobster dishes to be a bit chewy, but this restaurant's lobster was incredibly tender, perfectly cooked, and well-seasoned. Although it was flavored with butter and cream, it didn't feel greasy at all. 😍The crab cake was made entirely of crab meat, with no starch, which was very satisfying. The sauce was probably made from crab roe. I guessed it was from king crab because it had a slightly bitter taste, which I didn't particularly enjoy, but the crab cake itself was perfect. For dessert, I had the soufflé, which was just okay. Since I'm not a big fan of overly sweet things, I preferred it without the chocolate sauce. Overall, it was a delicious experience. I'll definitely be back to try the lobster bisque and the pan-seared lobster again. Yes, I'm a seafood lover through and through. #French Cuisine
