Stay Review: Sonder at Marriott in Detroit
A quick note since daylight saving time just kicked in β°. π Transportation: Took the DAX Line 1 straight to downtown β $8, dropped off right in the center, about 30 minutes. Super convenient β . π¨ Accommodation: As a Titanium member, I booked the cheapest option ($167) to save company costs. Everything was self-service β keycode entry, no front desk interaction. No welcome water (bought 2 bottles for $4 πΈ), no slippers, no service reallyβ¦ experience felt pretty bare-bones π . If I come again, Iβd choose the Indigo across the street β at least breakfast is included, just ~$200 more. The Westin felt too pricey for a layover. Luggage storage was also DIY, and no welcome points or room upgrade. Basically felt like an apartment, not a hotel stay. π Location & Safety: Convenient and felt safe. The next day I visited the Detroit Institute of Arts πΌοΈ β took Bus 482 ($2 for a 4-hour pass), just 10 minutes from the hotel. Totally worth it β VanGoghEncounter π¨! Also walked by the waterfront β you can see Canada right across the river π¨π¦π. Overall, itβs the most budget-friendly of the three nearby options and fairly practical, especially if you just need a clean place to crash. But if you value service or amenities, maybe look next door. #HotelReview #DetroitStay #Sonder #Marriott #BudgetTravel #TravelHacks #DetroitArts #TravelDiary #ViewOfCanada #LayoverLife π§³βοΈποΈ
