Still Wild Texas BBQ—Hard Eight
✏️I first visited Hard Eight two years ago. This time, I came to Dallas to see my mom off at the airport and wanted to treat her to some authentic Texas BBQ. We ended up at Hard Eight again, which is conveniently close to the airport. The process remains the same: As soon as you walk in, you choose your meats, then pick sides, condiments, and sauces before checking out. Even during peak hours, the process is smooth and quick, with minimal waiting time. Recommendations: 🍖 Brisket: The eternal soul of Texas BBQ. It’s juicy, flavorful, and melts in your mouth with a rich, smoky aroma. 🍖 Chicken Popper: These are small chunks of chicken coated with green peppers and onions, skewered on toothpicks. Surprisingly, they’re not very spicy. 🍖 Spicy Sausage: I fell in love with this two years ago and still can’t get enough of it. The spicy flavor is perfect. 🍖 Fried Okra: A hundred times better than mushy fries or sweet potato fries. These are crispy and delicious. Not Recommended: 🍖 Ham: It’s salty and a bit dry. Better suited for making sandwiches. 🍖 Boiled Corn: The corn is neither sweet nor salty. You can see the corn broth in the bottom left corner of the photo; it looks a bit off-putting. 📌Peach Cobbler: I’ve tried this before and didn’t like it, but I gave it another shot. Unfortunately, it’s still just overly sweet, with the kind of sweetness you’d expect from canned fruit. There are many branches of Hard Eight around Dallas, and the quality is consistent. It’s a great choice for those who don’t want to wait in long lines. The one I visited is the closest to the airport: Hard Eight: 688 Freeport Pkwy, Coppell, TX 75019 #FoodieSummer #BBQ #TexasBBQ #MeatLovers #MeatLoversMenu #BBQRestaurant
