Stop 10馃搷Bratislava

As one of the least noticeable countries and capitals in Eastern Europe, Bratislava is mostly a place people randomly stop at for half a day or a day on their way to more popular cities like Prague, Vienna, and Budapest, just to tick off another country. In terms of architecture and scenery, 馃槏馃槏馃槏 it doesn't have many unique features compared to other Eastern European regions, which is probably why people don't particularly like it. There are two main viewpoints for sightseeing: next to the castle and at Slav铆n, both of which are free, so that's a plus. However, I missed the view from Slav铆n one day because it was raining (even though I had seen it before when the weather was good). I didn't feel like climbing too much, 馃馃馃 so I just went to the viewing platform in front of the castle, which offers a panoramic view of the Old Town and the UFO Tower. In the evening, it was foggy and a bit eerie.馃榿馃榿馃榿 This time, the main reason I went was that my silly apprentice called me over to hang out. It's definitely more interesting to have a local guide than just taking pictures of scenery馃槀. We visited a cabinet door that was a filming location for "The Chronicles of Narnia," and inside was a small bar. We changed venues a few times and drank until almost dawn, which was very satisfying. #EasternEurope #Slovakia #Bratislava #SoloTravel #Architecture #Photography
