Strolling Along the Philosopher's Path ๐ฟ
Today, I walked alone from Ginkaku-ji to Zenrin-ji along the entire Philosopher's Path. ๐ข๐ When I reached the point where the eaves of Ginkaku-ji seemed to pierce through the clouds, it felt as if the deities had hidden sutras within the wind chimes. The moss-covered Philosopher's Path was like a liquid stream, with fallen leaves as floating scrolls and footsteps crushing the mottled light and shadow, becoming punctuation marks in a dialogue between humans and time. ๐๐บ There were almost no people around. On one side of the river were more than ten temples of various sizes, while the other side had a few teahouses and quaint buildings of the local residents. ๐ข๐ The reflections of the river's branches in the water mirror seemed like an unfinished view of life and death by a Zen master. ๐๐บThe occasional Shiba Inu and pear blossom cat were enlightened beings, sitting at the boundary between a century-old temple and a decade-old teahouse, looking down on humans' obsession with "meaning." The so-called Philosopher's Path is probably about letting the friction between the soles of your shoes and the gravel drown out the noisy internal debate. ๐ข๐ When the twelfth vermilion mountain gate sliced the slanting sun into amber slices, I suddenly understood that the beauty of Kinkaku-ji lies in its burning, while the beauty of Ginkaku-ji lies in its breathingโthe former questions existence, while the latter demonstrates it. ๐๐บWhen I looked up at the sky, I saw the moon hanging high, facing the sun. I thought, this is a moment worth commemorating. #PhilosophyAndLife ๐ฟ #JourneyOfTheSoul ๐ฟ #KyotoTravelGuide ๐ฟ
