Strolling Leisurely Through the Moss-Covered Hoh Rain Forest 🌿😌

📍 Hall of Mosses, Hoh Rain Forest 🔶 Nestled within Seattle's Olympic National Park, the Hoh Rain Forest is one of the most beloved attractions, famed for its mossy trails. The trailhead is conveniently located near the visitor center, making it a short, gentle hike suitable for all ages. We arrived around 7 PM in June, and the place was nearly deserted—perfect for photos, though we did encounter a deer blocking the path at one point! 🦌😆 🔶 To reach the Hoh Rain Forest, enter from the west side of the park. It's about a four-hour drive from Seattle and one hour from Forks. Instead of making a special trip, plan a two- or three-day adventure to explore the surrounding beaches and other park highlights along the way. 🌊🏞 🔶 This time, we opted to camp at Hoh Campground. This expansive campsite offers flush toilets and water, but be sure to choose a spot close to the restrooms on the map. Our loop C site was quite a hike from the facilities! 🚻🏕 🔶 After seeing countless stunning photos from bloggers, we had high expectations for this place. In reality, only the final stretch of the Hall of Mosses trail boasted incredibly dense moss on the trees, which was quite unique. The rest of the forest felt similar to many other wooded areas near Seattle. Still, it's worth a visit if you're in the area! 📸✨ For more notes on Olympic National Park, check out my "U.S. National Parks" collection. 📚🌲 Follow A Mao, who has visited over 50 national parks, for more park guides and travel tips! 🌍🎒 #AroundSeattle #MyHikingNotes #TravelerGrowthPlan
