Super Fresh Charcoal-Grilled Live Abalone — Not a Seafood Scam! 🐚🔥

The last time I had charcoal-grilled seafood was in Ktown~ After not having it for years, I checked the prices again and was absolutely shocked!! 😱 This place is also Korean-run, but way more affordable!! So we went straight for Combo C. I really wanted Combo D, but with a small group, we just couldn’t finish it all lol 😂 It already felt like a full “deep-sea family feast”~ Seafood Salad: Sweet and tangy dressing with shrimp, crab sticks, shredded veggies, and glass noodles~ 🥗 Pancake & Steamed Egg: Classic Korean sides~ The pancake was decent, but the steamed egg was so jiggly and smooth!! 🥚 Mayo Corn: Griddle-fried corn kernels with sweet mayo—guilty but delicious! 🌽 Manila Clams & Cherry Stone Clams: Plump, meaty clams—all alive and super fresh! Mussels: Each one stuffed with a bit of green pepper and sauce—zero fishy taste! Abalone: Seriously live abalone… still moving. My kid was kinda shocked watching it grilled—said it was his first time seeing “something alive become dinner” (…moment of silence 😅). Grilled and sliced, so chewy and good! Squid Rings: Brushed with sauce—super bouncy and topped with mayo. Sweet and savory balance was perfect! 🦑 Spicy & Non-Spicy Scallop Soup: Loaded with fish cakes, rice cakes, and scallops! Shrimp: Good-sized, firm meat—just toss on the grill and flip~ 🍤 Oysters: Wrapped in foil and charcoal-grilled, then opened by the staff—so plump and juicy!! 🦪 Baby Octopus: Coated in slightly spicy sauce—chewy and flavorful! Korean Udon (Kalguksu): Clear broth with udon noodles—not sure if handmade, but super springy! The soup was light yet flavorful! 🍜 Foil-Wrapped Potato & Sweet Potato: The perfect finish~ Crispy outside, soft inside—so comforting and warm! Even the potatoes were amazing, not to mention the sweet potato! 🍠 We barely had to lift a finger~ The staff grilled and served everything for us. The guy even interacted with my kid—so sweet!! ❤️ The Clam House 조개구이 133 W Garvey Ave Ste C, Monterey Park, CA 91754 #100PlacesToTry #SpringFoodGuide #LALife #LosAngeles #LAFood #Abalone #GrillEverything #SeafoodBBQ #WeTakeSeafoodSeriously #GlobalFoodieChallenge #LocalEats #KoreanBBQ #FamilyMeal #FreshSeafood #NoScamsHere
