Super Value Japanese Cuisine Iori in the City

šŸ“ Today's star-chasing target: Iori Japanese Restaurant Address: 41 E Row, Canberra ACT 2601 I finally checked out this restaurant that a friend recommended a year ago! This time, I went with a local friend, and it turned out she had been here once before—so it really must be popularļ½ž First of all! They have special offers all year round. Be sure to check Facebook before going; paying the regular price would be a real loss! The restaurant is not big but has a great atmosphere. The waiters wear kimonos, the chefs are Japanese, and with the dim lighting, it's really perfect for dates. No wonder the staff asked us several times if it was a birthday or some anniversary today. We chose the Yosenabe hotpot course specials. Winter calls for something warm! Remember to send a text to make a reservationļ½ž First, four small plates of appetizers were served: Sashimi, Aburi sushi, Nasu dengaku Eggplant, and Wagyu Beef Tataki. I thought the sashimi was a bit dry, but the beef was really delicious! The eggplant and sushi were also of a decent standard—pretty good for appetizersļ½ž Next up was the main dish: Yosenabe hotpot: A light Japanese hotpot with shrimp, salmon, tofu, fish cakes, vegetables, udon noodles, etc. The salmon tasted a bit fishy after boiling, and the shrimp had little flavor and was a bit tough, but that just proves they aren't water-injected shrimp. The udon noodles were soft, the tofu and fish cakes were good, and although the soup was light, it had a nice flavor. After eating, my tonsillitis felt half better—it was amazingļ½ž The biggest surprise came midway through the meal: the chef gave us a complimentary mango, avocado, and shrimp sushi. The slightly spicy sauce inside was really delicious! And it was free! Finally, we finished with a matcha berry-flavored small cake and a hot red bean pancake. After eating, the chef and waiters thanked us together in Japanese—it was really full of ceremony ā¤ļøā¤ļøā¤ļø Summary: 43 AUD per person is really super value! I'll definitely come back often!! #Canberra #AustralianLife #100RestaurantExplorationPlan #InternationalStudentsEatingOut #CanberraFood #JapaneseCuisine #FoodHealsEverything
