Surprise Highlight Was the Matcha! 🍵

The growth of Chubby Cattle is seriously impressive! Their new spot even has its own drink stand: Chubby Tea 🥤 The matcha coconut milk is unforgettable—one sip and I was hooked. Probably the best tea drink I’ve had recently—so refreshing and delicious. Hard to beat! I’ve visited Chubby Cattle locations in Monterey Park, Rosemead, and now Diamond Plaza. Here’s my honest take: New location rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (Bonus points for Chubby Tea!) The Wagyu is still top-notch as always. Limited-order items like Wagyu filet and short rib were excellent 👍 But the sashimi needs work—the initial sashimi platter was okay, but the later-order thin-cut salmon was barely edible. For sushi, I highly recommend the eel avocado roll—you can tell the eel is freshly grilled 😍 The langoustine was… acceptable, not great but not terrible. Just passable. New feature: a self-service fridge with cheese corn 🌽, cheesy sweet potato 🍠, butter enoki mushrooms, and butter crab sticks! The DIY bar and Wagyu rice bowl were both awesome. New menu additions like Wagyu dumplings and soup dumplings were juicy and tasty—but after eating those, I got full before I could even finish two plates of meat! Key point: Unlimited drinks including bubble tea! Many people say the service is great, and aside from the guy serving our table who was just okay, everyone else was indeed friendly. The new location uses iPad ordering—took us a while to figure out the menu. The meat arrived but sat there for a bit before anyone remembered to grill it. Our server noticed we hadn’t started and finally asked if we needed help. We didn’t take him up on it, but then we felt rushed toward the end with a last call for ordering and paying. A bit of a hurried vibe. Overall, the meat quality at all three Chubby Cattle locations is consistently good. The difference lies in the menu variety and dining experience—prices are similar, each has its strengths. But if the Diamond Plaza location would serve pineapple slice by slice (instead of all at once), it’d probably be my favorite branch 😂😂 #FoodDiary #RestaurantRecommendation #LosAngeles #LAEats #WagyuLovers #MatchaDrink #ChubbyCattle #EatAllYouCan #FoodReview #LAFoodie #DiningExperience
