Surprised by the Lava Basque Cheesecake at This Café!
I’ve seen so many rave reviews online about this place, and on my way home after an event, I happened to pass by. Seeing the long line made me even more curious to join the hype 😂. The fact that it’s so popular right after opening must mean the drinks are amazing, right? ⭐️As a matcha enthusiast, my goal is to try all the matcha in Los Angeles 🍵. I ordered their classic Matcha Tiramisu—yes, it’s a drink! It comes with a cookie on top, which I recommend dipping into the tiramisu cream foam on the matcha. Then, mix everything together, and you’ve got a delicious matcha drink! As someone who loves a bit of ceremony, even drinking matcha feels like a special ritual, and it really brightens my mood, haha! ⭐️It’s worth mentioning that the reason the wait is longer is because every cup of tea is hand-whisked by the staff. You can really taste the high quality of the matcha. They don’t use any animal-based dairy, only plant-based milk options, which suits my taste perfectly! I chose oat milk with less honey, and the sweetness and creaminess were just right. Highly recommend it! This is definitely one of my top three favorite matcha spots in LA so far! The café has a lot of unique vintage decor, super cute tableware, and desserts. I also had the most authentic Basque cheesecake I’ve ever tried in LA! If you go before 11 AM on weekends, there’s almost no line! —👩🏻🍳 Recommendations 👩🏻🍳— 🍵 Matcha Tiramisu: A visually stunning drink, almost like a thick matcha "porridge." With oat milk and no sugar, it’s incredibly rich and aromatic! #LosAngeles #LAFood #LACafes #LAMatcha
