Suva Travel Guide 🇫🇯✨
As Fiji’s capital, Suva is worth a visit! Highlights include small gardens, libraries, the Presidential Palace, churches, the Grand Pacific Hotel (GPH—Suva’s finest beachfront hotel), and lush forest waterfalls. Since Suva is compact, you can explore it all in a day. 🚖 Taxis start at FJD $1.50, but the meter jumps crazy fast—hold onto your wallet! 💸 🏨 Top Hotels in Suva: 1️⃣ Grand Pacific Hotel (GPH) – The best in town! 2️⃣ Holiday Inn – Also great, with similar vibes. Both feature huge pools (open 6AM–6PM), cafés, and excellent service. Room rates start around ¥1,200+. Check-out by 12PM, check-in by 2PM. 🔥 GPH’s nightly 6PM fire-lighting ceremony is a cool spectacle—torches illuminate the exterior! Occasionally, they host big events & parties too. ⚠️ Nighttime Safety: Avoid going out after dark! While there’s a bar street, it’s sketchy—robberies happen often, and thieves might attack even if you have nothing to steal (yes, really). Most shops close early on weekends. 🛍️ Suva’s 3 Main Malls: Tappoo & MHCC (opposite each other) Damodar (a bit farther) But honestly… not much to shop for except snacks. 🍫 💎 Prouds (luxury store) sells watches, pearls, perfumes, and Pure Fiji soaps. 🎥 Cinema tickets are cheap (FJD $7–8), popcorn is tasty 🍿, and movies are no-subtitles—good luck with your English listening skills! 😆 🏛️ Fiji Museum: Tiny & overpriced (FJD $10)—most pics online are heavily filtered. Two floors of fishing tools, boat models, and animal specimens. The outside garden is nicer—big trees, lawns, and a broken clock ⏰ (right across from GPH). 🌿 Colo-i-Suva Forest Park: Fun! Features small waterfalls and swimming spots. Water is murky mountain spring—but hey, adventure! 💦 Final Tip: Suva is more about vibes than grand sights—enjoy its quirky charm! 🌺 #TravelFiji #SuvaDiaries #IslandCapital #AdventureAwaits
