Szeged | New Synagogue | Travel Photography

✅In Europe, if you're looking for a quiet indoor space with exquisite architecture, a church is definitely a suitable option. ✅Although I'm not a believer, every time I step into a church and sit or stand inside, I always feel calmer. Gazing at the nameless yet sacred objects within, I can't help but engage in self-reflection and repentance. ✅This time, I visited the New Synagogue in Szeged. Upon research, I found out that it's the fourth-largest synagogue in the world and the second-largest in Europe. The largest synagogue in the world is in New York, the third-largest is in Jerusalem, and the largest in Europe and second-largest in the world is in Budapest. Surprisingly, in Hungary, a country with a small land area and not a large economic output, there are two of the largest synagogues in the world! Perhaps this is due to the fact that after the establishment of the Austro-Hungarian Empire in the 19th century, Jews were granted full citizenship rights, leading to a large influx of Jews into Hungary and their gradual integration into various industries. ✅After visiting this synagogue, I felt that maybe I should have concealed my student status, as I would have needed to pay an additional 20 units of currency for the ticket, contributing to the maintenance of this architectural marvel. However, perhaps everything and everyone has its own cause and effect. My so-called kindness may not be needed, nor may it be used in the right place. Otherwise, why charge such a high admission fee when there are only a handful of visitors? It's worth noting that the largest and most exquisite church in this city is open for free visits. ✅The new semester has begun, and I hope that my actions and behavior will be as I wrote in the guestbook of this synagogue in Chinese: to work harder, be more disciplined, and achieve academic success. #Europe #Hungary #Szeged #Synagogue #Travel #StreetPhotography
