Tacoma Hidden Gem: A Authentic Vietnamese Restaurant Worth Discovering

Couldn’t sleep last night, so I decided to treat myself to a comforting bowl of pho the next morning 😊🍜. Found this place on Google called Nhu Thuy Restaurant, but when we arrived, it had been renovated and renamed — now 📍Viet Kitchen! Address: 758 S 38th St, Tacoma, WA 98418 I’ve been missing my go-to Bun Bo Hue spot from Portland since moving here… and finally, I think I found a worthy replacement! 🤩 The moment we stepped in, the place felt clean, spacious, and full of local families and elders — always a good sign of authenticity 👵👨👩👧👦. Here’s what we ordered: 🍜 V3 - Bun Bo Hue ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ | $11.95 Rich and aromatic broth — not too salty, with a mild spicy kick 🌶️👌. The beef slices were tender (likely beef shank), meatballs were bouncy and homemade-tasting, and it came with a soft pork knuckle. Only one piece of blood cake, which was okay but not very flavorful. 🍲 N4 - Soft Stir-Fried Rice Noodle with Pork ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ | $11.95 Full of wok hei (breath of the wok) — so fragrant! 🍳🔥 The pork was surprisingly pork belly (not dry at all!), topped with crispy fried onions. Generous portions — I could only finish half and took the rest home 🥡. A tad salty for me, but my partner loved it as is. 🧋 Thai Tea ❌ Unfortunately, a miss — too sweet and not very authentic-tasting 😢. Overall, highly recommend this place! I saw many people ordering the duck noodle soup 🦆🍜, and I have a feeling we’ll be back here weekly for more comforting bowls 😂. Great prices, big portions — definitely worth a try! #VietnameseFood #Pho #SeattleEats #TacomaFood #ComfortFood #NoodleLover #HiddenGem #FoodReview
