π£ Tacoma Sumo Japanese Restaurant | All-You-Can-Eat Sushi Review
We tried this all-you-can-eat sushi spot in Tacoma! π° Lunch: $19.99 per person | Dinner: $29.99 per person The menu is pretty extensive β everything except the green-framed items on the fourth image is available for lunch. π Sumo Japanese Restaurant (AYCE) 2919 S 38th St Suite B, Tacoma, WA 98409 We visited on a Friday night β no reservation, so we waited about 35 minutes (not even peak dining time!). Got seated at 7:45 PM π’. You order via QR code π±. They also have a fruit and salad bar ππ₯. The food: Curry Beef Rice π: Surprisingly good! Fragrant curry and tender medium-well beef. Poke Don π: The rice was overly sour, and the sashimi on top was just okay. Fried Chicken π: Average β not the thick, juicy kind you get at ramen shops. Sumo Roll π£: Solid choice! Less rice, more filling β would recommend. The above dishes came out relatively quickly. β‘ But thenβ¦ We waited almost an hour for the sushi and sashimi β and only got them after asking the server to check π₯² By then, we were pretty frustrated but determined to try everything since weβd already waited. On the bright side: The salmon sashimi was fresh π White tuna had a nice QQ texture with a slightly creamy aftertaste β interesting! Unagi (eel) was good but a bit heavy on the sauce. π€ They use robot servers here β cute, but during busy times the human staff still had to step in. Overall: The restaurant is clean, nicely decorated, and has a wide menu. They also offer a military discount πποΈ Might be worth a try if youβre curious β but we probably wonβt be back anytime soon. This meal took almost 3 hoursβ¦ and even my partner was side-eyeing me by the end π #Sushi #Tacoma #SeattleFood #AYCE #JapaneseFood #FoodReview
