A spot I’ve had bookmarked forever—finally made it! 【Braised Pork Belly】 $8.75 I honestly can’t pronounce the Chinese name on the menu 😅, but it’s basically succulent pork belly. Classic description: melts in your mouth, even the lean parts are tender! What surprised me was the pickled bamboo shoots underneath—so good! They’re tangy but not too sour or funky like in luosifen, just crisp and slightly acidic, balancing the rich meat perfectly. Can I get a whole plate of just these? 😆 【Lu Rou Fan (Braised Pork Rice)】$7.25 Their signature dish! The rice is soft, moist, and sticky—just how I like it. Topped with fragrant braised pork—so comforting! A bit on the oily side though, so maybe share this one. 【Oyster Omelet】 $12 Every place makes oyster omelet differently, and this one’s delicious too! The sauce is rich and savory, and there’s a leafy veggie (maybe basil?) fried in—tasty combo! 【Salt & Pepper Chicken】 $9.25 I LOVE the fried basil that comes with Taiwanese popcorn chicken! Wish there was more though—once I had some from a boba shop with tons of crispy basil, so aromatic! Here, the chicken is tender; just dip it in peppery salt for extra flavor. 【Intestine Vermicelli Soup】 $8.25 My first time trying this—the noodles are super silky, almost like a thick broth. The intestines have zero gaminess (they’re de-greased), and it’s lightly seasoned. Next time, I’ll try the fried intestines instead. The restaurant is small but always bustling!
