Taizō-in🔍

Taizō-in: The Perfect Blend of History and Zen 🌟 Taizō-in is the oldest sub-temple of the Kyoto Rinzai Sect Myōshin-ji School. 🌟 Founded in 1404, it has been a spiritual landmark of Zen culture for 600 years. 🌟 This place is not only the birthplace of the Japanese national treasure, the ink painting "The Catfish and Gourd" (currently housed in the Kyoto National Museum, with a replica displayed in the temple), but also the location of the "Mototsune Garden," designed by the Kano school artist Kano Mototsune. The garden interprets Zen philosophy through white sand karesansui (dry landscape) and three-dimensional pruning. 🌟 The vice abbot, Matsuyama Daikō, once said, "The Zen spirit of Taizō-in never fades with the changing seasons." 🌿 #Kyoto 🌟
