Takada Art Museum
Ame no Hira Coast. πΈπ Just a 5-minute walk from the Takada Art Museum is the Echizen Nakagawa Station on the Himi Line. You can buy your own ticket there to head to Ame no Hira Coast. Seller show vs buyer show, haha. π πΈπThe water at the coast isn't very clean and has a bit of an oyster smell. No snow-capped mountains in sight either. But dreams are always elusive, right? Beauty comes in many forms, and the coastal railway is still pretty nice to look at. π P.S. If you want to see the female rock, turning left after exiting the station is closer. πΈπOn the way, a guy behind me said to another, "There are hardly any Chinese people here. It's like everyone in the world speaks Chinese in this dreamy place." I decided to keep quiet and cherish this feeling. π Takada Great Buddha. πΈπ Ah, one of Japan's three great Buddhas and a national treasure. It's... what you see is what you get. Since I was already there, I figured I might as well check it out, even though there's no entrance fee. π§ πΈπI originally planned to try Takada's Himi beef or Matsusaka beef, but both places were fully booked for the weekend. Sad! π₯© In the end, I decided to walk to the nearby Aeon in New Takada, passing by the Zuiryuji Temple. β οΈ If it's getting late, don't walk by yourself! Wait for the once-an-hour Joto Line! The area is really rural, and although I saw beautiful sunsets along the way, the railway is quite secluded. πΈπI wouldn't recommend walking after dark. I checked out the Kanazawa ramen at Aeon, and it was pretty good. In the end, I waited an hour for the Joto Line to get back to Takada Station. π π¨ Hotel Route Inn Takada Ekimae (Β₯328.28 including breakfast). It's not far from Takada Station, and there's a Lawson nearby. The first floor has a bathhouse, but it's not a natural hot spring, so I wouldn't recommend it.
