Revisiting Kagawa Prefectural Office After Seven Years π π’π In 2017, during my four-day trip to Takamatsu, I remember heading straight to Ritsurin Garden from the airport. πΊπThe breathtaking blue sky and white clouds that day, and the stunning view of the vermilion bridge in Ritsurin Garden, are still etched in my memory. I also recall visiting the legendary Kagawa Prefectural Office Building, designed by Kenzo Tange in 1958, right after leaving Ritsurin Garden. π’π I was in such a hurry back then, but I always wanted to come back. π πΊπThis time, I finally had the time and the right mindset to explore it thoroughly. I started from the new annex. The modernist-style karesansui (dry landscape garden) in the courtyard is a sight to behold. πΏ π’π From the 8th floor, where the Cultural Affairs Division is located, you can see the beautiful coastal scenery of the Seto Inland Sea, with mountains, sea, and cityscapes all in one view. π πΊπOn the 11th floor, where the office of the Governor of Kagawa Prefecture and the secretariat are located, the walls of the hallway are adorned with posters featuring this very building as the theme of an architectural journey. π’πI really wanted to try the food at the public servant cafeteria that's open to visitors, but unfortunately, it only opens at 11:00, and I missed it by a mile. π This is my second visit to the prefectural office... πΊπ #Takamatsu #KagawaPrefecturalOffice #Momijigari π
