Taking the Ferry to Auckland’s Devonport is So Relaxing 💙

Haven’t updated with personal thoughts in a while — was totally buried in studying and work before. But I’ve finally moved past that tense and challenging phase, and now I’m soaking up my last days in New Zealand 🌿 It’s been half a year since I was last in Auckland. This time, I traveled alone from Rotorua — a 4.5-hour Intercity bus ride to get here. The vibe of this city is really different from Rotorua: you can feel a more youthful energy and liveliness. Walking down the street or staying at Haka House, I see young people from all over the world (though honestly, there are Chinese everywhere 😄). Lots of Chinese restaurants and chic little shops too — that’s just how NZ cities are. Rotorua feels more “wild” to me… but I still love it. Rotorua is like my second home 💚 This time, I got to catch up with friends I hadn’t seen in ages. We ate Korean food, wandered in the park, and just chatted. They even prepared gifts for me 💝 We met during those tough early days in New Zealand — they were a warm light in my life back then. I’m so happy that since then, we’ve all found better chapters in our lives. And now — we’re all genuinely happy 🎊 On the bus, I happened to sit next to an elderly lady transiting through Auckland on her way to London. We started talking 💬 Turns out her son is an actor living in London! At the hostel, I also met girls from Spain, Germany, and Australia — all traveling solo, brave and curious explorers! That’s one reason I love staying in hostels: you meet people from different countries, with different jobs and stories. Auckland — hope to see you again 👋 #NZLife #NZTravel #NewZealand #Auckland #Devonport #Photography #Plog #TravelDiary
