Tampa | Get Messy with Clay
đ DRIP YBOR đ 1620 E 7th Ave, Tampa, FL 33605 After visiting the aquarium, I noticed this pottery studio Iâd had saved on my map for a whileâand it was super close by! Without a second thought, I signed up for a $50 class. The instructor covers some basic pottery techniques, and then you get to create freely đš Since it was the afternoon, things were pretty quietâalmost like a one-on-one session! The owner mentioned that evenings and weekends are their busiest times. They also have another studio just for membersâperfect if you get into it and want to keep learning đș I went through two blocks of clay before finally making something decent đ My hard-earned advice: đ Focus on being steady, not fast đ Once youâve shaped it, try not to overwork itâitâs easy to mess up the whole piece by adjusting tiny details The owner was super niceâhe gave me three blocks of clay to play with and said if I really get into it, I could even buy a used wheel and work at home. He also offered to fire my pieces for me đ Spent a whole afternoon happily covered in clayâeven my jeans got stylish mud splatters đđŠ Not totally satisfied with my final piece, but I didnât want to waste more clay đ„Č Now waiting for the email to come back and glaze itâshould take about 3-4 weeks. Kinda excited to see how it turns out! đ€© They also offer ceramic painting and mosaic workshopsâall very reasonably priced. Highly recommend if youâre looking for a fun hands-on experience! #Craft #GoodVibes #PlayWithClay #PotteryDIY #TampaTravel #YborCity #ThingsToDoInTampa
