Tasteless Restaurant | The "All Style, No Substance" Edition

Restaurant Name: Konoba Portun Cost for Two: ยฃ86 (โ‚ฌ104) ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ We visited based on many Red Book recommendations, but this place is purely "Instagrammable" โ€“ all style, no substance. If youโ€™re there for photos, go ahead (it is stunning ๐Ÿ™ƒ), but the food is underwhelming, portions are tiny, and prices are steep. Truly, taste and aesthetics donโ€™t coexist here. The Only Recommendation: Fish Thick Soup โ€“ โ‚ฌ6.5 ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ A sweet-and-sour broth with tender fish flakes. Great on its own or paired with bread. A versatile dish that complements anything. ๐Ÿฒ Others: The green herb butter served with the complimentary bread is worth trying โ€“ quite unique. We went in with low expectations (prioritizing photos), but even then, the meal was hard to swallow. Compared to the other restaurant we tried in Kotor Old Town (see our profile for the post), this one is like night and day. The octopus tasted stale, squid lacked chewiness, fish had a fishy odor, and the salmon was overcooked. Most dishes were either bland or overly salty (the shrimp was passable). Perhaps because weโ€™d had an amazing, cheaper meal the day before, this felt like a letdown. If youโ€™re set on aesthetics, give it a try, but manage your expectations. Silver Lining: Lots of cats roam around โ€“ feeding them doubles as entertainment if the food disappoints. #Montenegro #MontenegroTravel #MontenegroFood #Kotor #Seafood #CoastalRestaurant #TravelTips #TouristTrapAlert
