This place is a MUST VISIT when in Kotor!! When you walk by, you are drawn in by the seaside ambiance, scents of delicious dishes and the friendly people. We were blessed to have our waiter Dusan serving us and everything was top notch!! At Dusan's recommendation we had the grilled Octopus and the Stewed Veal and they were absolutely delicious!! The truffles in the veal and the devine grilled veggies with the incredibly tender octopus was clearly made with passion by the resident chef. Dusan also recommended a beautiful Montenegrin wine based on our taste and he did not disappoint! The meal ended with a delicious warm apple pie/cake topped with ice cream honey and crushed nuts! Each plate and the complimentary bread, with herbed butter and olive tempanade was delicious and aesthetically pleasing. The quality of service provided by the very friendly, and personable Dusan elevated the entire experience. Dusan, thank you for making our night so special!! When you found out that it was my husband's birthday, you were genuinely upset that I had not told you prior. Suddenly, a sparkling candle arrived, and the music over the speaker was changed and playing Happy Birthday! Dusan, you are a beautiful person and a wonderful host. Thank you for making the night extra special. The ambiance, decor, friendly staff and delicious food make this restaurant an entire dining experience that should be experienced by everyone when visiting Kotor/Dubrota! We cannot highly recommend enough and we cannot wait to come back before we leave Kotor! Thank you...
Read moreEvery year during our summer vacation, we make sure to dine at Konoba Portun at least once — our most recent visit was in June this year. Each time, it has been an absolutely fantastic evening filled with top-quality food, excellent service, and a magical atmosphere. The value for money here is truly exceptional and hard to find elsewhere. We were a group of five and ordered two appetizers, which came with complimentary homemade bread and Mediterranean spreads. For the main course, we enjoyed two seafood platters with shellfish, Mediterranean-style stews, and a rich black cuttlefish risotto. We finished with two desserts, four aperitifs, a bottle of excellent Serbian white wine (Tamjanika), two bottles of sparkling water, and four coffees. The total bill was just €200 — a price that feels like a gift for what we received. The service was impeccable, the ambiance of the konoba is absolutely magical, located right by the sea, and we even had free secured parking. Highly recommended — an unforgettable experience every...
Read moreFood was mostly fine but service was super unfriendly. I emailed to reserve a table for the first night of our honeymoon two months earlier and got a very unfriendly reply, and they were obviously annoyed that I later had to request to change the time of the table because we were delayed on our arrival. Arrived a bit early and told we could wait with a drink but in half an hour no one came to take a drinks order. My food was delicious but my husband's meal was really fatty and flavourless and had a long hair in it and they still charged him for it. They brought the salad as we finished eating and made me feel really bad about cancelling it. They did bring us delicious apple cake which was very appreciated but just made us feel really uncomfortable throughout. I didn't expect anything because of it being our honeymoon but they made us feel really unwelcome which was such a shame, and food was too expensive and not good enough to make it a...
