TATAKAE!! 🇩🇪 "Attack on Titan" Prototype Town

🇩🇪 Small Town | Munich Day Trip: Quick Tour of "Shiganshina District" 📍 Nördlingen, Germany A hidden gem for Attack on Titan fans! This tiny town boasts iconic circular city walls and medieval architecture—perfect for checking in. It’s small enough to explore in just a few hours ⏳. 📌 Transportation Outbound: Depart Munich by train 🚞 RB89 at 09:35 (2 hours direct to Nördlingen). Return: The 16:21 🚞 RB89 is highly recommended—it’s the last direct train back to Munich that day. ⚠️ Direct trains are now also available on weekends! We went on a Friday and didn’t stay long; we took a return train around 3 PM, transferring once at Donauwörth. 📌 Itinerary 🕰️ 11:35 AM: Arrive at Nördlingen Station. A 5-minute walk takes you to the old town. ➡️ City Walls (Free Entry) 🧱 You’ll spot the Deining Gate right away (unfortunately, it was under renovation during our visit). Climb up here to start your wall walk—you’ll find the iconic check-in gate (see Pic P3) soon after. We walked about 1/4 of the wall (≈10 minutes) and descended at the Reimlingen Gate. The walls offer views of the town’s rooftops, ancient towers, and narrow alleys—but it’s not a "panoramic overlook" since the walls are quite low. ➡️ Lunch: Döner Kebab Head straight from the Reimlingen Gate exit—there’s a Döner shop nearby. It’s run by Turks and super authentic! I love spicy food, so I ordered "Spicy"… but it had zero heat 😂. Most Germans order "no spicy," so that’s probably why. ⚠️ Avoid the Turkish yogurt: It’s salty, sour, and as thin as water! A friend insisted on trying it and regretted it immediately. (The pink-white bottled yogurt I had at a Bosnian restaurant in Berlin was way better—at least it was only sour!) 📌 Restaurant: Gürkan's Dönearle 📍 Address: Reimlinger Str. 5, 86720 Nördlingen ➡️ St. George’s Church & Daniel Tower ⛪ The town’s landmark! Climb the tower for a 360° panoramic view of Nördlingen—it’s breathtaking, but the climb is brutal (endless steep stairs, only wide enough for one person at a time). Luckily, there aren’t many people. Take it slow on the way down, and check out the Attack on Titan fan graffiti to catch your breath 🎨. Tower entry fee: €4 (adult), €3 (student) ⚠️ Cash only‼️ Ask the grandpa at the top for a cloak—just say you’re an AOT fan! He’s super friendly and even said "bye-bye" in Chinese 🇨🇳. Inside the small tower hut: There are introductions, small stones, and photo spots. Postcards cost €1 each—some are really nice! ➡️ Afternoon Ice Cream 🍦 Grab a cone right next to the church after descending the tower. I ordered banana 🍌 and pineapple 🍍 flavors! 📌 Shop: Eiscafé Adria ➡️ Old Town (Altstadt) City Walk 🚶‍♀️ Wander around the historic streets to wrap up your trip. ➡️ Return to Munich 🔙 #AttackOnTitan #NördlingenGermany #OffTheBeatenPath #MunichDayTrip
