Temecula’s Europa Village – A Taste of Europe in California 🍇✨
Just a short drive from LA (no need to go all the way to Napa!), Temecula in Riverside County offers a charming escape into wine country. This small city has a relaxed, cozy vibe—perfect for a low-key getaway. For us introverted wine lovers who prefer calm energy, visiting a few popular tasting rooms and strolling through the vineyards makes for a perfect wine trip. 🍷😌 Right now, the grapes haven’t reached véraison (the color-changing phase), but in a couple of months, it’ll be ideal for those who love seeing lush, ripe vines! A top recommendation is Europa Village—a beautiful compound featuring three European-themed wineries: Spanish, Italian, and French. 🇪🇸🇮🇹🇫🇷 Each has its own tasting room, restaurant, and walkable vineyard areas with educational signs about grape varieties and rootstocks. Even the parking lot is surrounded by grapevines! We had lunch at Bolero—their Spanish paella takes 45 minutes to prepare (so much effort!), but the flavor was just okay. The lamb chops, though? Absolutely delicious! Cooked medium, tender and juicy, served with crispy stacked potato towers—so good! 🍖🥔 We also checked out Old Town Temecula, with its cute boutiques and shops, but the noisy bars felt a bit overwhelming for this introvert—we snapped some street photos and headed out quickly. We also tried a prix fixe menu with wine/tea pairing from a Reddit-hyped spot, but both the ingredients and flavors were pretty disappointing. 😅 For accommodation, I booked a room at Carter Estate through Booking.com—I was drawn to the idea of a vineyard-facing balcony leading straight into the grapes. And it did NOT disappoint! Waking up to fresh air and stepping directly into the vineyard was pure magic. 🌿☀️ Have you been to Temecula or Europa Village?
