UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Sites • Historic Monuments of Ancient Kyoto 🌟 🌸🍃 Tenryu-ji Temple is located in Saga-Tenryu-ji Mangano-mabuchi-cho, Ukyo-ku, Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture, Japan. 🌇🌿It is the head temple of the Rinzai Sect Tenryu-ji School. The mountain name is "Reikizan." 🌸🍃 The principal image is Shakyamuni Buddha, founded by Ashikaga Takauji, with Musō Soseki as the first head priest. 🌇🌿Originally, it was built by Musō Kokushi under the order of Ashikaga Takauji to soothe the spirit of Emperor Go-Daigo.
